That's ironic, your post contained the word pelican in it and the ad on the top of the page is about pelican products. I guess this forum uses keyword advertising or something. |

Isn't that how google ads work? Search the page and provide relative content?
Nice underwater case. I'd like to see some test videos. I tried mine out while I was in vegas. I was messing around with it in the pool and it worked pretty well, but at the end of playing with it, it got foggy inside. If I loaded the camera while I was inside or in some other enviroment then outside, or something...I dunno. My sister claimed it looked like a skippy jar of "womens sanitary products" for lack of a better (appropriate?) term...I felt stupid for holding it in the pool after that. |

I got the pelican case and used a magnetic reed switch for the power button. I attached the magnet to the case strap works great. I then used a mercury switch for the record button. To start or stop recording I have to tilt the camera completely upside down. I kept all the adds internal so it still looks stock. I've used it snorkeling in the ocean 3 times now and it has worked perfect every time. Next I plan on adding a li-ion battery with internal usb charger. |

Ever watch one of those police chase shows and the show a view of the car, the wheels/engine are white...other stuff is grey (or black)...that's the stuff FLIR puts out. Interesting shit (and fun) if you ask me. |

Here is an easy solution to waterproofing too. All you need is a camcorder package (the plastic piece) and either a sheet of laminating paper or a clear adhesive bookcover. First just remove the clear plastic from your package, clean excess stuck paper is any left. Then cut a piece of clear laminating paper or similar item to the same size as the back of the clear plastic package. Seal the two pieces together well and there you have it an easy waterproofing.
Here is a pic of my finished product.

I've kept just about every plastic case planning on doing that....I even bought some silicon glue (or something along those lines) to do it.....too risky for me.... |

It's not that risky, I tested it a little bit and it seemed fine. I fully submerged it under about a foot of water. |

Add a ziplock bag or two over it if you think it'll leak... |
